The 2014 edition of Africa’s biggest reality show, Big Brother Africa will kick off September 7, organizers have announced.

Last year’s edition, Big Brother Africa (The Chase), which was won by Namibian representative Dillish Mathews, saw Ghana making it to the finale for the first time.

Fashion designer, Elikem Kumordzie emerged second runner up in the reality show.

This year’s edition, Season 9 of the show, according to organizers, Africa Magic and Endemol SA, will be opened to 14 countries.

The 14 will be made up of all of last year’s participating countries – Botswana, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Namibia, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe – with the exception of Angola which will be replaced by newcomers Rwanda.

“Entries are only open to persons over the age of 21, who are citizens of one of the participating countries and must have a valid passport. Producers are looking for persons who are entertaining and passionate about the Big Brother experience; and they have to be fluent in English,” organizers said in a statement.

Organizers hope to complete auditions for this year’s show in June.
