Veteran Ugandan singer Kid Fox has opened up about the fear he felt before returning home after many years abroad. He says he was afraid of how the country, and the music industry, would receive him.
Kid Fox was a household name in Uganda in the early 2000s. His songs, including “Hypocrite,” “Ezinunula Omunaku,” and “Veteran,” played on radio stations and in clubs across the country. Many fans still remember them today.
After years away, the singer says he worried that he had been forgotten. He also feared that the music scene had changed too much for him to fit back in.
“I was scared to return to Uganda,” Kid Fox said. “I did not know how people would welcome me. A lot had changed, and I had been gone for a long time.“
Since coming back, Kid Fox has made headlines for his bold statements about his place in Ugandan music. He insists that he is second to none and that no artist in the industry stands above him.
His comments have caused debate. Some fans support him, saying his past success proves his claim. Others argue that the industry has grown and that today’s top artists have earned their own place at the top.
Kid Fox has also been accused of stirring controversy with some of the biggest names in the music industry. He has not backed down. He says his words come from confidence in his work and the legacy he built.
Music analysts say the debate shows how much Kid Fox still matters to fans. “Whether people agree with him or not, they are talking about him again,” said one local entertainment commentator.
For Kid Fox, the main goal now is to prove that he still belongs. He says he is ready to work, release new music, and remind Ugandans of the artist they once loved.
“I am home now,” he said. “I am here to stay, and I am ready to show what I can do.“
Fans and critics will now be watching closely to see whether his comeback can match the fame he enjoyed more than twenty years ago.
