Kalifah AgaNaga has dismissed fellow artist Alien Skin’s claim of being a legend, stating that such a title must be earned through years of consistent work and impact.

AgaNaga made the remarks during a media interview, sparking renewed debate about what qualifies one as a music legend in Uganda.
Alien Skin recently declared himself a legend in the industry, following the popularity of his hit songs and growing fan base.
However, AgaNaga argued that music greatness is not measured by short-term success or viral fame but by long-standing influence and cultural contribution.
“Alien Skin is not a legend. He is still new in the industry and has not yet made a significant or lasting impact. Let him work for ten more years and contribute positively to society first,” AgaNaga said, urging younger artists to respect the journey of those before them.
AgaNaga named veteran musicians like Jose Chameleone, Bebe Cool, Bobi Wine, and Sheebah Karungi as true legends, highlighting their longevity, evolution, and role in shaping Uganda’s music scene over decades.
According to him, these artists have endured challenges and stayed relevant across generations.
He also warned against self-declared titles, saying they can dilute the value of true achievement in the arts. “Being a legend is not something you declare for yourself — it’s earned through time, respect, and results,” AgaNaga added.
The comments have stirred discussion online, with fans divided between defending Alien Skin’s confidence and agreeing with Aganaga’s call for patience and humility. Some argue that the new generation should focus more on building their legacies rather than claiming titles prematurely.
