Legendary musician Bebe Cool has shared that before fully venturing into music, he once pursued sports, particularly football, but had to give it up after a painful incident.

Coming from a family with strong roots in Uganda’s sports sector, Bebe Cool says athletics and football were part of his early life in school. However, his football journey came to an abrupt end after a disturbing experience on the pitch.

“I did a lot of sports in school; I did athletics and ended up in football. I only quit after losing all my ten nails,” he recalled.

“I wore a very tiny boot and played during a hot season. When I took off my socks, all my nails came off with the socks. So I quit but only physically, not mentally.”

Despite the setback, Bebe Cool maintains a strong passion for sports and continues to follow Ugandan athletics and football closely.
