Events promoter Nobat Events, real name Norbert Twizire, has been arraigned before the Makindye Magistrates Court over failure to settle a debt of UGX 5 million.

Nobat, who had spent several days in detention at the Central Police Station (CPS) following his arrest at Kololo Airstrip midway through President Museveni’s 81st birthday celebrations, was released on police bond earlier today.
However, moments after his release, he was rearrested on accusations of failing to pay back the money.
According to the complainant, Luswata William, the promoter borrowed UGX 5 million in 2024 to invest in the Miss Bukedde event. Luswata further claims that Nobat offered a Toyota Mark X as security, only for him to later discover that the car did not belong to the promoter.
The rightful owner, Mr. Kawere, eventually impounded the vehicle, leaving Luswata without both his money and the collateral.
The case has now been registered at the Makindye Magistrates Court, where Nobat will have to answer to the charges.
