Ugandan singer Pia Pounds has opened up about her ideal partner and the conditions under which she would consider having children, making it clear that her standards—both personal and financial—are high.

In an interview, Pia didn’t shy away from painting a vivid picture of her ideal man. “I like my man dark and tall like Zinjanthropus,” she said with a cheeky smile, referring to the ancient hominid species known for its height and strong physical features.
“I can give birth for him, but it depends on the budget. Me as a person, I’m expensive. I’m very selective in the things I do. I try to give myself class. I have to give birth with demure.”
While many might romanticize engagement as the green light for starting a family, Pia disagrees. She firmly stated that she wouldn’t consider having children without the assurance of marriage.
“Where can I go for compensation of my time if all we did was a kukyala or kwanjula? Those are for show-offs,” she said, referring to the traditional pre-marriage ceremonies in Uganda.
Her advice to young women was equally strong: “Girls shouldn’t be quick to get pregnant after getting engaged unless it’s after a wedding.”
According to her, a wedding isn’t just ceremonial—it’s a formal commitment that provides the stability and security she values before starting a family.
