Kampala Woman Member of Parliament, Shamim Malende, is expected to return to Uganda early next week following a three-month medical stay in Nairobi, Kenya.
Malende broke the news of her imminent return through a brief social media post on Wednesday, where she wrote, “Coming back home, Monday 21/7/2025. Thank you, my people.”
The legislator was flown to Nairobi earlier this year to undergo specialized treatment for an undisclosed health condition.

Despite her recent health setbacks, Malende is gearing up for what promises to be a highly competitive bid to retain her parliamentary seat in the 2026 general elections.
