Shena Skies Opens Up About Struggles in Music Industry: “No Management, No Money”

Despite penning hit songs for some of East Africa’s biggest names, Ugandan singer-songwriter Shena Skies says the reason she hasn’t fully broken through as a solo artist is simple: lack of management and money.

Shena, known for her powerful pen behind chart-toppers for artists like Rema, Spice Diana, Diamond Platnumz, and others, recently addressed a fan’s question on TikTok asking why she hasn’t achieved the stardom her songwriting portfolio deserves.

In her candid response, Shena admitted,

“It’s a management issue.”

The singer explained that while she has the talent and passion, she lacks a solid team and financial backing to push her brand to the next level.

This absence of structured support has made it difficult for her to market her own music and build the visibility needed to match her peers.
