Rapper and singer Rickman Manrick has opened up about the female artistes who have left a lasting mark on his musical journey, both this year and in the past.

Speaking in a recent interview, Rickman revealed a list of his favorite female collaborators and inspirations, noting that they have consistently delivered excellence and contributed significantly to his creative process.

“There are quite many who have performed well, but I will go with Ava Peace, Lydia Jazmine, Winnie Nwagi, Pretty Banks, Vinka, Likkle Bangi, and Tracy Melon — with no particular order,” Rickman said.

He emphasized that this selection is based on personal preference and musical chemistry rather than rankings or trends. “These are artistes of my choice,” he added, “and they’ve done wonders for me musically.”

Rickman’s recognition of these female stars comes at a time when Ugandan women in music are continuing to rise and redefine the industry.

With artists like Lydia Jazmine and Winnie Nwagi commanding major stages and new talents like Tracy Melon and Pretty Banks quickly ascending, it’s clear why Rickman finds inspiration in their work.

The rapper, known for hits like Tunyumize and Naki, has in recent years increasingly embraced collaboration, and his appreciation for female talent reflects a broader trend of unity and diversity within Uganda’s music scene.
