Bebe Cool is setting his sights on regional domination with the rollout of his latest album, Break the Chains. Since its release in late May, the album has already racked up close to a million streams, with standout collaborations and genre-expanding sounds putting Bebe Cool firmly back into continental conversations.

The album marks a bold evolution for the seasoned artist, diving into emerging sonic territories like Afrotech, Afrobeats, and Afroelectronic. With collaborations featuring stars such as Nigeria’s Yemi Alade on African Love and Uganda’s rising sensation Joshua Baraka on Cheque, the album reflects both experience and reinvention.

To push the album, Bebe Cool has been engaging in a flurry of promotional activities — from shooting visually stunning music clips to appearing at major events like DJ Carlos Perez’s showcase and making rounds on various media platforms across Uganda. Now, he’s expanding his campaign beyond borders.

Next stop: Nairobi, Kenya.

“This feels like a homecoming,” Bebe Cool shared. “Nairobi is where all the journey started; it is where I was mentored.”

Indeed, Nairobi holds a deeply personal significance in Bebe Cool’s career. It was in the Kenyan capital that he began his musical journey, living humbly before a good Samaritan helped him access professional studios.

Since then, his ties with Kenya have remained strong — he shot Love You Everyday, the first single off his Go Mama album, in Nairobi, and collaborated with Kenyan talent like VJ One, K-Rupt, Redsan, Nameless, Sauti Sol, Wyre, and Necessary Noize’s Nazizi.

Although he has visited Nairobi several times, Bebe Cool’s last major presence in the city was in 2017 when he appeared on Coke Studio Africa. His return in 2025, however, feels more symbolic — a full-circle moment as he reconnects with the city that helped shape his path.

As he kicks off this African tour leg, Bebe Cool plans to link up with both established and emerging names in Kenya’s ever-vibrant music industry. His goal, he says, goes beyond personal gain. He wants Break the Chains to inspire the African music industry to dream and innovate at a higher level.

With a powerful message, star-studded collaborations, and a deep-rooted connection to East African music culture, Bebe Cool is not just breaking chains — he’s building bridges.
