East Africa’s number one expo for baby and kids’ products, services, ideas and information returned for its third edition at UMA showgrounds, Lugogo in Kampala, Uganda. Code-named ‘Baby and Kids Expo EA’, the 3-day expo brought together all the best in the baby and kids industry across Uganda and East Africa.
The event was organized by Kiara Events Limited under the theme ‘Strengthening Families Through Healthcare, Growth, and Zero Violence.’ From 9th May to 11th May, over 70 exhibitors displayed the best in childcare.
Among these exhibitors included Movit’s Baby Junior that wowed many parents with freebies and the latest assortments of child skin care products. The informational sessions were packed to the brim. Parents were attentive to learn about autism and how to care for an autistic child.
It was exciting to watch children take charge of the entertainment sessions, from being in control of the fashion runway, to the well-choreographed dances. There was even a teenage panel session that featured Miss Teen Uganda. On the food court, Star café had the delicious meals as Ranchers also went all out with its meat products such as sausages.
Perhaps the most innovative display of the day was of ‘ATTA Breastmilk Community’. This community collects, screens and distributes donated breast milk to infants in need. For parents that suffer with breast milk, it was such a novelty to learn that there’s a company that solves this problem.
On the crowning day aka the final day of the expo, Suki Fashion House put up a fantastic fashion show that attracted a standing ovation. The aura of the babies and kids spread across the audience. From the lighting to the sound effects, it was a show that brought joy to this Sunday evening.
The proprietors of the Baby and Kids Expo had this to say; “this is the 3rd edition, and our goal is to always eclipse and leap beyond the past editions. For the fourth edition, you can expect that we shall give you full circle of everything you need to manage a baby from when they’re still in the belly to when they grow into teenagers. We are here to integrate this for the parents, to make parenting such a joy. Whether it’s the child’s schooling, clothing, banking that baby, investing in their future, we want a parent to know that the expo got them covered.”
The exhibitors and sponsors on the other hand shared nothing but gratitude; “it’s amazing to be part of this expo. Because in a way it’s a statement that our brands, and our businesses care about the baby and kids. And we have no doubt; we are committing for the long term to being part of the Baby and Kids expo. And together, we also get to build synergies. It’s really about the future of the country, and the baby and kids are that future that we choose to create together at the expo. Uganda is lucky to play home to this expo.”
