On 8th March which was Women’s day, the speaker of parliament pledged a gym, salon and beauty shop for both female legislators and staff as she addressed female staff of Parliament.
Rebecca Kadaga said this will be done in abid to reduce on the time female parliament staff spend outside parliament premises and also reduce on their busy schedules. They will be able to access jewelry, makeup and other salon services without going through a hustle, Kadaga added.
In another move to encourage emancipation of women, parliament is encouraging women to apply for driver positions in Parliament saying until now women have shunned the jobs in the transport sector.
