Ugandan dancehall singer Nutty Neithan has shared his experience with record labels, saying they take advantage of artists’ ignorance.

Speaking about the struggles musicians face in the industry, Nutty Neithan revealed that many artists are underpaid without realizing it.

“They won’t tell you you’re being underpaid; they’ll just let you suffer for it,” he said.

He explained that record labels often make artists feel unimportant. “They make you feel like the oar, not the gold,” he added, suggesting that artists do the hard work while labels take the bigger share of the profits.

Nutty Neithan’s comments highlight the challenges artists face when signing contracts without proper knowledge.

Many Ugandan musicians have raised similar concerns, calling for fair treatment and transparency in the industry.

His statement serves as a warning to upcoming artists to educate themselves about the business side of music to avoid being exploited.
