Prominent Uganda businessman and motivational speaker Frank Gashumba has spoken out in defense of his daughter, Sheilah Gashumba, in response to public pressure for her to get married.
The outspoken media personality expressed his strong views on the issue, pointing out that marriage should not be dictated by societal expectations.
In a recent statement, Gashumba said, “As for me, I have not yet married. It’s not biblically stated that someone should get married at a certain age. All the great women around the world like Oprah Winfrey and Kamala Harris aren’t married—why do you want Sheilah married?“
Gashumba emphasized that individuals should be free to make their own life choices without interference from others.
“Everyone has a choice to make in life. Don’t impose your life decisions on others,” he added.
Sheilah Gashumba is one of Uganda’s most successful and vibrant young celebrities.
Known for her beauty and impressive career, she has made a name for herself in media and entertainment, further fueling public interest in her personal life.
Despite the attention, both Sheilah and her father continue to assert that personal decisions, such as marriage, should remain a matter of individual choice.
