SC Villa win as URA FC go top

YudaUganda’s most decorated club, SC Villa, moved to fifth place on the FUFA Super League log on Tuesday evening after a 1-0 win over struggling Proline FC at the Lugogo Stadium.

It was Karim Ndugwa’s goal in stoppage time that gave the blues maximum points.

Ndugwa, who also scored a last-minute goal in the 2-1 victory over Kiira Young last week, said he is happy to keep scoring the goals.

“I will keep working hard to get more goals for the club,” Ndugwa told MTNFootball.com.

In the second game of the day, coach Paul Nkata’s URA FC went top of the log after struggling to secure a draw against Express FC at the Wankulukuku Stadium.

Sam Seknoomi netted the game’s opening goal after the break for URA FC, but Allan Kyambadde, who was part of the Uganda Cranes squad in the 2014 Africa Nations Championship, netted the equaliser.

URA missed the chance to break away from Vipers with two points. The result leaves both URA and SC Vipers on 36 points each. URA’s goal difference of 19 is better and keeps them top. Express moved just one place to 12th as they dislodged Proline, who dropped a place behind.

League action continues on Friday with four matches on the card, with Soana facing Kiira Young, while Entebbe FC hosts SC Vipers in some of the ties.
