Nsimbe – Draw OK, ref was poor

George Nsimbe says he is satisfied with KCCA’s 2-2 away draw with Nkana but slammed Djibouti referee Djama Abdi’s officiating.

Abdi handed Nkana a 34th minute penalty for a questionable hand ball and later reduced KCCA to ten men after sending off Tom Masiko for a second bookable offence in the 58th minute.

“Since we are away the draw is not very bad but when we go back we have to win on the 8th,” Nsimbe said.

“But the officiating wasn’t that good. It wasn’t that good because they gave away the first penalty which wasn’t a good decision but it was his decision. For me the referee wasn’t qualified.”

However, Abdi handed KCCA a lifeline with 70th minute penalty converted by Brian Majwega after another debatable handball by Nkana defender Maybin Chishimba.

Meanwhile, KCCA were overall the better side before and after Masiko’s expulsion and took the lead in the 25 minute through Tony Odur.

Nkana won a penalty in the 34th minute that Ronald Kampamba failed to convert after casually kicking the ball straight at Omar Magoola.

Kampamba atoned for his misdemeanour a minute later to score from open play.

Shadreck Musonda fired in a thunderbolt strike in the 48th minute to temporally put Nkana in command before Majwega made sure of the draw twenty minutes from time.

Nkana need to beat KCCA 1-0 away this Saturday in Kampala to progress to the second round, pre-group stage.
