Mixed feelings have emerged within Uganda’s entertainment industry following the recent appointment of popular singer Eddy Kenzo as a Senior Presidential Advisor on Creatives by President Yoweri Museveni.

While some artists and industry stakeholders have welcomed the decision, others have expressed reservations.
Among the critics is raising singer Biswanka, who openly questioned Kenzo’s ability to provide meaningful advice to the President.

Biswanka stated, “There is nothing Eddy Kenzo can advise the President about,” highlighting concerns over whether Kenzo’s experience and expertise are sufficient for such a significant role.
Despite the criticism, Kenzo’s supporters argue that his success as an international artist makes him a suitable representative for Uganda’s creative sector.
They believe that his new position could bring positive changes and increased recognition to the industry.
As the debate continues, the entertainment community remains divided, with opinions ranging from support to skepticism regarding Kenzo’s potential impact in his new advisory role.
