Tamale Mirundi Junior has talked about the financial and emotional challenges his family faced during his father, Joseph Tamale Mirundi’s, hospitalization.

Mirundi Junior disclosed that the family was spending up to Shs15 million per week on medical bills as they sought to ensure the best possible care for the former presidential adviser.
Junior revealed that President Yoweri Museveni, a close associate of the Mirundi family, had advised them to consider seeking treatment abroad if they felt that the local healthcare system was inadequate.
“But I think we took long to make the decision,” Junior admitted, reflecting on the delay in making the critical decision to fly his father out for further treatment.
Junior spoke about the close bond he shares with his father. He described Joseph Tamale Mirundi as not only a protector and friend but also a father who fiercely defended and pampered his children throughout their lives.
“Despite our occasional disagreements, he always treated us with love and equality,” Junior noted.
