News has reached us that Irene Namatovu’s song “Fumba,” featuring Annet Nandujja, has been restored on YouTube.
This follows a detailed review of a copyright claim made by fellow singer Mariam Massa.
A letter from Irene Namatovu explains that after thorough investigation, it was found that the removal of “Fumba” was an error.
The review confirmed that Namatovu’s song did not infringe on Massa’s copyright, leading to its reinstatement on the platform.
In her letter, Namatovu thanked her fans for their support and patience during the issue.
She also encouraged the public to stream, listen to, and share “Fumba” to make up for the time it was unavailable.
Here is Irene Namatovu’s letter in full:
Dear fans and supporters,
I am pleased to share some good news with you all. After a thorough review by the YouTube copyright team, it has been determined that the removal of my song “Fumba” featuring Annet Nandujja was a mistake. The song does not match or resemble any other songs.
I want to thank each one of you for your unwavering support and patience during this time. Your love and encouragement mean the world to me. “Fumba” is now back up on YouTube, and I invite you all to listen, enjoy, and share it with your friends and family.
Thank you for standing by me. Let’s continue to celebrate our music together!
With love and gratitude,
Irene Namatovu
