Ugandan Music Faces Barriers in Crossing Borders, Says Zulitums

Renowned Ugandan singer, songwriter, and producer Zulitums has shed light on the challenges hindering Ugandan music from achieving greater recognition internationally and winning prestigious accolades.

Speaking during a recent appearance on ‘NTV Da Beat’ show, Zulitums emphasized that despite continuous progress within the Ugandan music scene, significant barriers persist, impeding its ability to transcend borders.

Zulitums expressed his optimism about the continuous advancements within the Ugandan music industry, stating, “There’s nothing that’s holding us back because every year we’re having a step.”

However, he acknowledged that despite these strides, certain factors hinder the music’s global reach and recognition.

The multi-talented artist highlighted the need for greater exposure and support for Ugandan musicians on the international stage. He emphasized the importance of breaking into foreign markets and establishing a presence beyond Uganda’s borders to gain wider acclaim and success.

During his appearance on ‘NTV Da Beat’, Zulitums emphasized the necessity for Ugandan artists to receive more opportunities for international collaborations and performances.

He stressed the significance of networking and forming connections with industry professionals abroad to broaden the scope of Ugandan music’s influence.

Furthermore, Zulitums addressed the issue of insufficient recognition and accolades for Ugandan musicians on a global scale. Despite the abundance of talent within the country, he noted a lack of representation and acknowledgment in prestigious international music awards and platforms.
