Lamar Odom has opened up about his divorce from Khloe Kardashian.
The pair married in 2009 just a month after they met, but Kardashian filed for divorce last December following months of speculation about the marriage.
Speaking to US Weekly, Odom said of the divorce proceedings: “I love my wife. She’ll always be my wife, no matter what.”
The basketball player, who recently signed with a Spanish team, added he still has hope surrounding their relationship.
“Even if we were divorced, she would always be my wife,” he said. “Being married and being married to a woman I decided to marry was, besides having children, the most important thing in my life.”
Odom added that he wouldn’t change anything about his relationship, including taking part in reality show Khloe & Lamar.
“I think we prejudge a little bit too much these days because there’s so much access to everything about the world,” he commented.
“It’s easy for us to look at a YouTube video or a programme that doesn’t turn off and say, ‘This guy must be this way’. I understand how powerful TV is, but there’s nothing I would do different.”
Kardashian recently spoke about the rumours surrounding their divorce, saying: “This, in and of itself, is heart breaking and torture to my soul. Please, I don’t need the extra rumours and BS right now.”
