Anita Nabakibi, the daughter of the late Kampala robbery suspect, Sobi, is breaking her silence to mourn her father and shed light on the positive aspects of his character. Despite the negative image painted by the public eye, Nabakibi remembers Sobi as a good man and her best friend.

Sobi, whose name became synonymous with criminal activities in Kampala, passed away on Monday, leaving behind a legacy of infamy. However, his daughter Anita Nabakibi is challenging the prevailing narrative by highlighting the human side of her father.

In an exclusive interview, Nabakibi spoke candidly about her relationship with Sobi, stating, “My father was not just a notorious criminal in the eyes of the public. He was a human being, and to me, he was a good man and my best friend. I mourn him not as the alleged criminal but as the person he was to me.“

Nabakibi recounted fond memories of her father, emphasizing the positive impact he had on her life. “He was always there for me, providing guidance and support. We shared laughter, dreams, and even challenges. I want people to know that he had another side, one that the public rarely got to see.“

Despite the challenges posed by her father’s reputation, Nabakibi expressed gratitude for the moments they shared. “I understand the public’s perspective, but I also know my father beyond the headlines. He was a father who loved his family, and I will miss him dearly.“

The grieving daughter urged the public to consider the complexity of her father’s life and not judge him solely based on his criminal allegations. “We all make mistakes, but that doesn’t define us entirely. My father had his flaws, but he also had his virtues. I hope people can remember him for more than just his criminal past.“

The funeral arrangements for Sobi are currently underway, with Nabakibi requesting privacy for her family during this difficult time. As the public reflects on the life and legacy of the notorious Kampala robbery suspect, Anita Nabakibi’s heartfelt tribute serves as a reminder that even those with a tainted reputation may have aspects of their character that deserve acknowledgment and remembrance.
