Uganda Cranes’ second string side will on Friday embark on preparations for their African Nations Championships (CHAN) qualifying tie against Tanzania.

Mujib Kasule, a member of the technical committee and Vice President of the FA in-charge of the League, told MTNFootball.comon Monday afternoon that they have decided that the team starts training on June 28 ahead of the first leg in Dar es salaam on July 12.

“We want them to have enough days to train ahead of this match because we know it will be a tough game,” added Kasule. The Vice President explained that the head Coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic returns to the country tomorrow ahead of a planning meeting on Wednesday.

The Cranes who took part in the 2011 CHAN tournament in Khartoum, Sudan will have to be at their best against a Taifa Stars team that almost have their national team players featuring in the local league.

The Cranes will depend on some of their senior players like South African bound midfielder Hassan Wasswa, Said Kyeyune, Denis Iguma, Joseph Mpande and goalkeeper Ali Kimera who have been part 2014 World Cup qualifiers.

The second leg of qualifier will be played at the Mandela National Stadium in Kampala on July 26.
