Miss Grand International organization has officially appointed the representative of Uganda to represent the country at Miss Grand International 2022. Oliver Nakakande is the newly elected Miss Grand Uganda 2022.

Oliver succeeds Miss Grand Uganda 2015 Lilian Gashumba as the country has not participated since then.
Miss Grand Uganda pageant will be held on October 25 in Indonesia, where over 90 countries are expected to take part.
Nakakande will first fly to the USA to attend the Ugandan North American Association (UNAA) Causes. This year’s UNAA Causes will be held from September 3-6 in Las Vegas.
Oliver Nakakande is the winner of 2019/20 Miss World Uganda who represented Uganda at Miss World 2019 and managed to place in the Top 40 with her stellar performance. She was also the fourth runner-up in the Top Model competition. Just a few months back, Oliver launched a foundation whose aim is to identify and address the causes of such incidences.
“I want to use this platform to be a beacon of Hope and a Ray of light to light as many candles as I can with the torch I have been entrusted with. To be a part of the global Franchise and Grand family will see me transverse different narratives and fight for my advocacy both locally and internationally”, Oliver quoted as she was elected Miss Grand Uganda 2022.
Nakakande’s organization also empowers teenage mothers who have dropped out of school as she believes strongly in second chances. The foundation is targeting girls from Uganda at the moment, however, there are plans to increase the scope of its operations and make it a continent-wide affair. Oliver will surely be a strong contender for the Miss Grand International 2022 crown.
