Lapaire opens new optical shop in Mukono

By Our Reporter

Lapaire, a pan-African eyewear brand, has opened a new optical shop in Mukono in an effort to bring eyecare services closer to the local community.

The new optical shop which officially opened on Tuesday will be offering  several specialized eyecare services including free vision tests to identify and assess potential eye problems, and also provide eyeglasses.

Esther Nafula, the Operations Manager at Lapaire Uganda, commented that “In Uganda, the Ministry of Health estimates that over 1.2 million people are visually impaired with short-sightedness while 250,000 others are totally blind. Eyecare in Uganda has been observed to be quite expensive and inaccessible. For this reason, some people miss out on a service that could very much change their lives.”

“In our effort to raise awareness on the importance of eyecare and bring quality yet affordable eye care services closer to the people, we are opening our new optical shop in Mukono, at the Joshua Plaza, along Jinja Road near Shell Petrol Station towards Wantomne, to bring eyecare more closer to our community.” She added.

Meanwhile, this comes after they recently opened their optical flagship shop, The Panafrican Optician, located on Kampala road. The company also has other branches in Jinja and Mbarara.
