American singer, songwriter, and record producer Robert Sylvester Kelly a.k.a R Kelly has been found guilty of exploiting his superstar status to run a scheme to sexually abuse women and children over two decades.

This follows eleven accusers, nine women and two men, taking the stand over the searing six-week trial to describe sexual humiliation and violence at his hands.
After two days of deliberation, the jury of seven men and five women found Kelly guilty on all the charges he was facing.
Apparently, sentencing is due on May, 4, 2022 and the “I Believe I Can Fly” crooner is more likely to spend the rest of his life behind bars.
The jury found Kelly, was the ringleader of a violent and coercive scheme that lured women and children for him to sexually abuse.
The singer – most famous for multiple award-winning was also found to have trafficked women between different US states and produced child pornography.
The verdict comes 13 years after Kelly was acquitted of child pornography charges after a trial in the state of Illinois.
Many of the allegations heard in the trial were first laid out in the 2019 documentary Surviving R Kelly.
On July 12, 2019, federal prosecutors from New York and Chicago indicted Kelly on 18 charges, including child sexual exploitation, child pornography production, kidnapping, forced labor, racketeering, and obstruction of justice.
He was first denied bail in October 2019 and denied bail release again in April 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic.
