aYo, a provider of micro-insurance solutions, has announced that they will double the life insurance cover benefit for their customers. This is aimed at easing the financial burden on their clients as the country battles the second wave of the pandemic which has seen a spike in COVID-19 cases and deaths.

According to Allan Lwanga, the aYo Managing Director, the new offer will apply to clients who are lost to COVID-19.

“We at aYo commiserate with all our clients who have lost loved ones during this pandemic. We are offering a double life benefit for all our clients lost to COVID-19 to help with increased costs of burial. For UGX10,000 a month a client will now be eligible for UGX 4,000,000 upon death due to COVID-19.” Allan Lwanga said.

“We can not take the pain away, but we can ease the financial pressure of bereavement.” He added.

The insurance cover is provided through its two insurance products, ‘Send with Care’ and ‘Recharge with Care’.

aYo products are only available to MTN subscribers and customers get insurance cover when they load MTN airtime or use mobile money. To sign up, dial *296# and follow prompts.
