Brand Africa, in conjunction with Publics Africa Communications and the Uganda Investments Authority (UIA), is set to announce Uganda’s most admired brands.

The announcement will be made alongside the “2021 Brand Africa 100: Africa’s Best Brands” ranking, which highlights the top 100 brands on the continent.

According to a statement released on Wednesday, they will also announce brands that have been helpful during the Covid-19 pandemic and also show how African brands and businesses are repositioning themselves post the pandemic.

The rankings announcement will be hosted by Brand Africa founder and Chairman, Thebe Ikalafeng on 25 May 2021 and the founder and CEO of Publics Africa, Joseph Kanyamunyu in a virtual ceremony.

The announcement will feature panel discussions with local and pan-African thought leaders and brand builders, profiles of leading brands and a keynote speech by Uganda Investment Authoritys’ Board chairman, Mr. Morrison Rwakakamba.

An analysis of the data by Kantar and Brand Leadership over the past 10 years, has established that on average, only 20% of the brands admired by Africans are made in Africa.

Established in 2011, the Brand Africa 100: Africa’s Best Brands rankings are the most authoritative survey and analysis on brands and underlying businesses in Africa, based on a study by Geopoll across over 25 countries spanning all the five economic regions.
