Athen Lyre, is a Ugandan but South African based Singer – Songwriter / Producer running his own music record label Athenation Music Ent which connects and distributes his records thru Tree House Music Ent in Uganda.
His original birth names are Mayombwe Patrick Wanny, and he was born in 1993 – Sept – 25, in Kampala district Uganda.
The Singer – Songwriter had half of his age time in Uganda attending the following schools like Alpha & Omega Junior School , Shimoni Demonstration school, Wobulenzi Primary School, Butanza College Luwero with the country by then.
According to sources, Athen Lyre was musical since his early ages, he loved music and he used to karooke “Eagles Productions Songs” everytime his late beloved mother left him by his Uncle’s place as she went for work. It is said that he ( Athen Lyre) used to lock himself into the room, listen to music and karooke all kinds of Music.
Though, his late beloved mother Misses Kyalimpa Florence was a very known strict woman who didn’t give the Musician any chance or didn’t want his child to become a musician at all.
Upon her ( Athen Lyre’s Mother) death in 2005, things changed, and Athen Lyre was given in, to his Fathers family to help him grow, and also be able to study and finalize school.
Mr . David Kiyengo was the uncle who took over the responsibilities of taking care of the orphan ( Athen Lyre).
Athen’s uncle owned a secondary school, in Luwero called “Butanza College” where he was taken, and hence as an SDA school owned by his Father, snger – songwriter was given responsibility of heading the Entertainment industry of the school, and the Head of Chaple sessions of the school which helped the Singer – songwriter to acquire experience of how and what music needs on top of his own Godly given talent.
