Kyaddala Tv series renewed for season 2

“Kyaddala: It’s Real”, a TV series highlighting young people’s sexual and reproductive health issues, has been renewed for a second season. The new season was announced during an event held at Victoria University on Thursday.

Speaking during the launch event, Joe Kigozi, the Chairman Reach A Hand Uganda revealed that the TV series is aimed at educating and empowering young people by engaging with them in a more exciting and appealing way.

“Kyaddala TV series was born out of the desire to connect with young people. To connect with young people, you need to speak their language and engage them in ways that are more exciting and appealing.” Joe Kigozi said.

“Over 77 percent of Uganda’s population is young. These need to be empowered with the right information. This TV show will go a long way in educating and empowering young people.” He added.

According to Usama Mukwaya, the show producer, Kyaddala season 2 is being written by a diverse team including South African and Kenyan writers.

“We have a diverse and inclusive crew of writers and cast, both seasoned and novices. We are also using this platform to nurture new talent.” Usama Mukwaya said.

Season 2 is expected to follow a university setting and highlight challenges faced by young people at an advanced level of education, building up on  the first season which focused on secondary school life.

Kyaddala season one featured a star-studded cast that included Martha Kay, Patrick Salvado, Harmonie Kyomugisha, Eleanor and Mathew Nabwiso, Anita Fabiola, and Emmanuel Ikubese (from Nigeria) among others.

Season two is expected to premiere in August 2021 and will have 12 episodes.

Kyaddala TV series is a project by Reach A Hand Uganda in partnership with Emmanuel Ikubese Films.
