Who is Kamalaika?
I am Angel Mukunde Nassolo, born and raised in Entebbe, I am a God-fearing person, who loves Art and Music with a soft spot for the needy. I am a second born in a family of 3 girls
How long have you been in the industry?
Music has always been my life, been a backup artist for a while, backing Jose Chameleone but taking on music professionally, it has been 2 years
How are you finding the industry so far are the people in it kind?
The industry and life at large is what we make it or what we seek out of it, if you seek sympathy, you maybe disappointed, but if you seek Genuity like me, you appreciate whatever is thrown at you with objectivity
The industry is full of men with different intentions, how do you manage to work with them?
I have one saying that has shaped my whole life, “On your journey, if you start throwing stones at every dog that barks at you, you will never reach where you are going. So, to me if we are not discussing music, I pay no attention to diversions. It is about having principles
Where do you draw your inspiration from?
I draw my inspiration from the desire to better myself every day, the zeal to see my dream of being a force to0 reckon with and an artist no one can miss to refer to in the industry
What inspires the kind of music you make?
My imaginations, the stories around me, reality of everyday life
Most of your songs are about love, are you in a relationship, if so, how do you manage to juggle it with work?
My only focus now is music and improving my life, I want to be better than the person I was yesterday.
Name five female musicians you think are doing well so far in the industry
Every female artist is doing great, because we all measure success using different ways but for sure Kamalaika’s journey is so far so good
Besides Music, what else do you do?
I am a versatile business-oriented person I do a lot of businesses basing on what is currently going on
Where do you see or want yourself to be 5 years from now?
Kamalaika being a household name and internationally recognized brand.
