Princess Juliana in her new year message chose to apologize to her fans whom she felt she had let down. Unlike days back where she blasted a radio presenter who had spoken out about her relationship with King Lawrence, this time round Juliana seemed to be more open to constructive criticism.
With a fan base that was beginning to lose trust in someone they had accorded a status of goddess, Juliana realized that her relationship with King Lawrence hurt her more than choosing to forego it. This was her reputation at stake and she echoed all this in her New Year Message.
“What an amazing year its been for me. And I thank my God for it. Ive had a couple of milestones some of which I won’t mention here. My dream came true when I finally had my ‘upclose n personal’ concert which was a success thanks to the fans, sponsors n my team who always leave me humbled by the love they have for me. I salute you all. And where I haven’t been perfect, I apologise for being human. Happy n blessed 2014.”
Many analysts think that this apology was able to win back some fans who had chosen to abandoned the Princess following the new image she had cast in the past weeks, with her lingerie being exposed in public.
Juliana’s close friends told BigEye.ug that her apology was inspired by T.I’s song “Get Up” and here are some of the lyrics from the song.
“I accept full responsibility for the all the wrong I’ve done
If y’all thought I were perfect
I apologise for being human man
But never again partner
You can put my life on that
[Chorus]
And when they push you down, you got to get back up (I’m only human dawg)
And when they push you down, you got to get back up (I’m just a human dawg)
Brush the dirt off your jersey then go for the cup
Or the trophy or the ring, champion no matter what
Cause when you got the belt and the ring
People with ya popping bottles, taking pictures look around
As soon as you fall down all the haters pass a judgement
Surprise, I’m here to show that I’ma rise above this
Hello, out there (and you can love me, or you can leave me)
Can you here me? (before you judge me, just let me be me)
Its an SOS (and you can love me or either leave me)
To let me be me (before you judge me, see life ain’t easy)
