Miley Cyrus has hit back at Joe Jonas for saying that she pressured him into taking drugs.
Jonas claimed that the ‘Wrecking Ball’ singer and Demi Lovato introduced him to marijuana.
He said: “The first time I smoked weed was with Demi and Miley. I must have been 17 or 18. They kept saying, ‘Try it! Try it!’ so I gave it a shot, and it was all right.”
Cyrus responded to the claims to in The New York Times, saying: “If you want to smoke weed, you’re going to smoke weed.”
The former Disney star said that Jonas may have made up the story to look cool, explaining: “There’s nothing that two little girls are going to get you to do that you don’t want to do. I thought maybe he was saying that like it was going to make him look badass.”
She added: “We were so young that it’s actually like, ‘How did you get peer pressured by me?'”
Cyrus recently spoke about her on-stage persona, insisting that it is no more than a character.
“There’s a sex scene in pretty much every single movie, and they go, ‘Well, that’s a character’,” she said. “Well, [my persona] is a character.
“I don’t really dress as a teddy bear and, like, twerk on Robin Thicke, you know?”
