Kampala Restaurant Week showcase officially kicks off today

Tusker Lite once again presents Kampala’s most loved food bonanza, the annual Kampala Restaurant Week. The fifth edition of the biggest restaurant showcase in town was officially launched at La Cabana Restaurant, Speke Apartments in Kampala.

The showcase runs from today August 1st to August 10th with over 40 of the city’s best restaurants offering signature dishes in what has been dubbed the Three Course Edition.

“We are glad to partner with the Kampala Restaurant Week once again. You already know that any meal goes down well when paired with an ice cold Tusker Lite. We thank Kampala people for making Tusker Lite the beer of choice when having a meal, so, during the restaurant week, your first drink will be on us,” Cathy Twesigye, Tusker Lite’s Brand Manager said.  Tusker Lite is at the heart of the best food experiences in the country and the Kampala Restaurant Week serves as a climax of several food pairing offerings that have been ongoing in different restaurants. The brand has also supported Women Vs Men cook-outs, Oktober fest, Koroga Festivals, Tokosa festival, food pairing in several outlets, the monthly UTAKE Meat Carnival that takes foodies on an East African culinary journey among others.The Kampala Restaurant Week is already causing a social media frenzy with Foodies expressing their anticipation for the mouth-watering meals on social media, charging their excitement to the scrumptious meal menus that have been teasing their taste buds online.The food showcase will be an experience that will leave food lovers spoilt for choice with Casual Dining and Signature Dining restaurants providing three-course offerings with starters, main courses and desserts.

“The Kampala Restaurant Week is a great opportunity for Kampala’s finest restaurants to show off what they have to offer. This will be our fifth edition allowing over 40 restaurants great exposure while bringing a fun dining experience for food lovers,” said Philip Kalibwani, Business Development Manager at Pearl Guide, the showcase’s organizer.An award ceremony will be held on August 12 to conclude the showcase. The ceremony will recognise restaurants with the “Best Dish,” “Outstanding Service” and “Overall top restaurant of the Week” voted for with a new system that allows the public to vote online. City chefs will be up for a run for their creativity whilst in the kitchen in order to be recognised at the end of the 10-day showcase.Kampala Restaurant Week

Kampala Restaurant Week is an annual restaurant showcase that celebrates fine dining at an affordable price with 40 participating restaurants that offer pre-fixed menus for period of 10 days. Held in partnership with Tusker Lite, the KRW menus are offered to all guests as a package deal. More than 15,000 people collectively have enjoyed the meals on offer each year since its inception in 2015. It has also expanded to towns across the country such as Entebbe, Jinja and Mbarara.
