Congolese star Awilo Longomba took revelers down memory lane in an electrifying show held on Friday evening at the Kampala Serena Hotel.

He performed several of his all-time bangers like ‘Coupe Bibamba’ and ‘Karoline’, allowing his scores of fans who had thronged Victoria hall to reminisce on the good old days as most unleashed their almost forgotten Lingala dance moves.

The star who was performing with his whole entire Paris band also brought out guest acts like BM that he has just collaborated with on the hit song “Rosalina” that has since gone viral all over the world.

The star also shared his stage with Ugandan stars including Eddy Kenzo, Dr. Jose Chameleon and Levixone among others.

Revelers stayed on their feet throughout the two and a half hour long show as the Congolese maestro delivered an energetic performance.

Awilo had last performed in Uganda 20 years ago and grew to love the country so much that he even infused some Luganda in some of his biggest hits. On Friday evening at the Serena, it was the happy reunion all had hoped for.

The show which was organised by Cents Events and sponsored by Singleton ended at midnight yet even at this time, most of those in attendance still wanted more.

Here are some photos from the show.
