Every now and then we get new talent with some taking over the music waves so fast while others work even harder and never get to be played. One thing for sure is that new artistes never stop coming through and this is what keeps our industry fresh.
One of the fresh artistes is a Hip-hop-musical force to reckon with and his name is Nagangsta whose real names are Brian Naganga.
Nagangsta grew up in Nateete, Kampala and was raised by his mother Christine Nalwanga and father Alex Nkonge. He attended Savio Primary School and two secondary schools – St. Joseph’s Naggalama and Uganda Martyrs Namugongo before pursuing a degree at Makerere University. He works a day job as a Tax Consultant in a reputable firm in town, the proceeds from which he uses to fund his music.
He first got inklings to do music while a teenager and wrote his first songs aged 15. Since then, he has been writing rhymes profusely. He boasts of hundreds of songs written which he is now recording in studio a few at a time. He not only writes and records his music, he also energetically performs it in-front of crowds.
His debut studio album entitled ‘Vocation’ is ready and available on all online music stores such as iTunes, Apple Music, Deezer, Tidal, Spotify, Amazon among others.
You can listen to his album on Tidal
He has two music videos out – Digida (ft. Santana) and Beeper (ft. Glen Fame). Off the ‘VOCATION ALBUM’, BEEPER is directed by Frank JAHLIVE. Nagangsta takes it to the streets with this video – bad*ss cyclists, stunt masters and chics, dancing while it’s raining, not caring, chilling and living. Watch it here.
Asked about his future plans, Nagangsta says that they include shooting a video every 3 or 4 months, releasing an album every 2 years, collaborating with various artists and performing on big stages.
Look out for this talent.
