Soulful Reggae artiste Kenny Smyth is excited about the new opportunities he has been receiving musically since the release of his debut EP ‘Serious Business’ late last year.

The 7 track project; a mixture of lovers rock and roots reggae, displays his growth since placing forth in the Jamaican based Rising Stars competition in 2013. The title ‘Serious Business’ also mirrors how serious the young star is about focusing on his career for 2018, even adjusting his name from Kenny ‘Smith’ to Kenny ‘Smyth’ for more international separation and search ability.

“It’s not that i wasn’t focused on my career before but now I understand more about how the music business works and ‘Kenny Smyth’ is ready to take it to a global scale. The ‘Serious Business’ EP has opened some international doors for me and now producers from all over the world are interested in working with me and having me perform in these countries as well,” Smyth explained.

Another Single from Kenny called ‘Can’t sleep at night”, produced by Emudio Records from Germany, is resonating with fans because it is highlighting the violence currently in Jamaica and the unnecessary bloodshed that is affecting so many of our citizens. The single has been getting good rotation in the UK, America and here in the Caribbean. It was also trending on the Hapilos top 10 chart in Jamaica recently.

“ ‘Can’t sleep at night’ is real life, it speaks to the blood shedding of the innocent lives even of babies, all these horrible things happening all over the island and it is really up to us to end it, the single has been getting lots of attention overseas and fans worldwide have been reaching out” Smyth added

Locally the artiste has worked with labels like Gafjam Records, Notis Production, Calibud Music and Stephen DiGenius. With increased international appeal Kenny Smyth now has current and future projects with Emudio from Germany who also produced the Serious Business EP, he also has new projects on tap with Stargate Production from France and Luv Number One Production from the United Kingdom.

A brand new song ‘Only You” produced by KO beatz from Belize also shows great potential of making waves in the Spanish market and should see Kenny visiting Belize on a promotional tour this Spring.

The Serious Business EP is distributed by Zojak worldwide and is available on all digital platforms for purchase.
