Bebe Cool left his fans in Mbarara disappointed after he was a no-show at the Purple Party held at Rwizi Arch Hotel on Saturday.
The “Byebyo” singer who was supposed to entertain fans alongside a host of top Ugandan music acts at the much anticipated show pulled out on the last minute.
We have learnt that the singer had to cancel his performance to honour a request by of one his longtime friends and city tycoon Sudhir Ruparelia.
According to Bebe, Sudhir invited him to entertain guests at his son, Rajiv’s wedding which was happening in the UK. With the two gigs coinciding, the singer decided to go perform at the wedding because such moments for most couples come once in a lifetime.
He explained, “I would like to humbly apologise to all my fans in Mbarara for missing out on the Purple Party. It all came because I had to urgently fly to London to honour a one day request most important to a fan,a family,a friend,that has supported my music, Dr. Sudir Ruparelia.”
“We all know this gentleman has supported me so much and his only son, Rajiv is getting married and this is the only request he’s ever asked from me. I do respect you my fans and I can’t compare you to anything or any one but I had to do this coz it happens only once in a lifetime for serious people.” He added.
