Jumia Travel Uganda has officially announced its partnership with the Nyege Nyege Music Festival in a move aimed at promoting culture and music tourism.
The announcement was made during an event held at Jumia offices along Lumumba Avenue, Nakasero on Friday which also doubled as a media meet and greet party.
According to Timothy Mugume, Country Manager Jumia Travel Uganda, the partnership with Nyege Nyege Music Festival will aid the festival goers in having ultimate fun.
“We want to aid festival goers to have maximum fun,” he noted. “Currently, you can book over 60 hotels in Jinja using our platform. We are also offering a special package for the festival goers that includes a ticket to the show, transport and a tent.”
“This partnership will go a long way in promoting music and culture tourism in Uganda, which are some of the biggest things that bring people together.” he added.
Speaking about finally meeting media partners, Mugume said; “Strengthening our partnerships with key players such as the media is very important to us at Jumia Travel and we are very happy to finally put faces to the publishers, photographers and broadcasters that came.”
The Nyege Nyege Music Festival, which is in its 3rd edition, will this year feature over 200 artistes on 4 stages. It brings together several artists from all over Africa and beyond. Some of the Ugandan acts that will perform at this year’s festival include Latinum, Jackie Akello, Apio Moro, Byg Ben Sukuya and Truth among others.
