Local TV station, Record TV has launched a new soap opera titled “Slave Isaura” in an effort to reinvigorate the TV channel. It was launched at an event held at Golf Course hotel on Saturday evening.
According to Record TV Managing Director, Ezekiel Motsoeneng, the soap opera is just one of the many exciting shows they’re rolling out this year.
“Record TV Uganda has enjoyed glorious days but has also suffered heavy set backs,” he noted. “This marks our first steps towards a change. We hope our viewers can continue with us on this journey.”
Slave Isaura, which premieres on Record TV on Wednesday, July 26 at 8pm, tells the story of a slave girl and her struggles to win her freedom from her master at a coffee plantation.
The launch ceremony was graced by musician Angella Katatumba, who is also the acting Honorary Consul of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in Uganda as the guest of honor. She expressed excitement about the soap opera noting that such stories are important for the development of our society because it is not just entertaining but also educational.
