5 Ways to get men to notice you

Are you tired of sitting alone or with one or two friends in a bar, night after night, waiting to be noticed by Mr. Right? Good heavens, who wouldn’t be tired of it?

The next time you and your friends plan a night out, change things up so you’re the ones in control and its the guys at the bar who hope to be noticed by you.

How do you do that, you ask? Its actually not all that difficult. These tips will help.

1. Pull yourself together

You don’t have to be breathtakingly beautiful to get a man to notice you. In fact, breathtakingly beautiful people are few and far between. If you really look at the guys who are players, you’ll probably find that they’re more friendly and confident than actually handsome.

So go home, put on some nice clothes and shoes with heels that make you feel like a princess, and take a little extra time in front of the mirror putting on your favourite makeup. When you walk into the bar or club, move with confidence – head up and shoulders back. Don’t let the looks you will certainly get intimidate you. Instead, be flattered.

2. Make strong eye contact

Men are very visual creatures. It is why they so often get into trouble from their wives about ogling other women. If you want to make contact with a man, do the thing he will notice first. Let your eyes slam into his. Keep your expression friendly but neutral, hold the eye contact for a second or two, and then turn back to talk to your friends.

The next time you make eye contact with the guy you’ve chosen, hold his gaze for a moment longer and offer a smile. If he smiles back, you’ve found a friend.

3. Don’t dumb yourself down

Aside from a few insecure guys who probably aren’t worth your effort, its a myth that men want women who are clueless or stupid. It is probably best not to get into a tooth-and-nail political fight with someone you’ve just met, but if he makes a comment about current events, feel free to show him what you know.

4. Give creative compliments

A big part of flirting, of course, is saying the right thing at the right time. Any kind of positive remark is usually appreciated, but try to compliment the guy on something over which he has control. For instance, it may be true that he’s got awesome blue eyes or a fantastic head of hair, but those aren’t features for which he is directly responsible.

Instead, compliment him on a funny remark he just made or on the way he is able to explain complex ideas so concisely. If he’s dressed well, mention it, as his outfit is unlikely to have come together by accident, and he will appreciate that you noticed.

5. Safety is sexy

When you go out with a group of friends, promise to keep an eye out for each other. Friends shouldn’t let friends leave the pub with a stranger who is intoxicated…or with any stranger at all, for that matter. If the guy’s intentions are good, he’ll have no problem giving you his digits so that your friend can call him when she sobers up. If his intentions are not good…well, then you’ve dodged a bullet.

Enjoy your next night out on the town, and remember, flirting isn’t just for guys anymore.
