Debula Kemoli

BBC World Service’s Debula Kemoli has jetted into the country.

Debula, along with a team of other BBC journalists, is in the country to broadcast BBC Minute, a 60-second news blast aimed at younger audiences around the world, on Ugandan soil as the show marks its second birthday.

We have learnt that BBC is celebrating the anniversary in Uganda because it is one of the countries with the most young populations in the world.

Launched in 2015, BBC Minute bulletins are vibrant summaries of the news headlines and topical stories which are relevant to young people and delivered in a style that entertains as well as educates and informs. It is broadcast twice an hour, 24-hours a day, 7-days a week by a team of journalists in London.

BBC Minute is partnering with three local stations – XFM in Kampala, Victoria FM in Jinja and King FM in Gulu.
