The Federation of Uganda Football Associations headquarters (FUFA house) in Mengo, Kampala have today morning been raided by Ugandan ex-internationals led by Daniel Walusimbi.
The group that raided the local football governing body this morning involved key football figures (former players) that included George Ssemwogerere, Polly Ouma, Phillip Obwinyi and their leader Walusimbi among many others who still claim that FUFA under Eng. Moses Magogo and his comrades are not the right persons to be running the sport in this country.
Speaking about the incident, FUFA spokesperson Ahmed Hussein expressed his great disappointment about the act and more so in the people leading it.
“We are surprised that some of the former senior football players are the ones behind this. We haven’t received any letter about the matter,” Hussein remarked while addressing the media.
On the other hand, Dan Walusimbi said; “Football has won, this level of impunity in FUFA must be stopped. This is our home, we back.”
The group also argued that, “we are now FUFA, them (FUFA) are now Nkwanga LTD. This is our home. They must leave the house.”
We will keep you posted.
