Uganda Cranes number one custodian, Dennis Masinde Onyango remains a major doubt for the team’s clash against Congo Brazzaville in the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers slated for this Saturday, 12th November at Namboole stadium.

Onyango who is still nursing an injury recently revealed that the doctors told him that he is not yet ready to play competitive football again.

“I traveled on the bill of Uganda Cranes but not sure if I will play, doctors at the club say I am not yet fine to play competitive football,” the 2016 CAF champions league winner revealed.

He was however quick to stress that he is still confident that other available stoppers in the squad can still get the job done.

“I believe in the goalkeepers around so whoever will be named that day will definitely make us proud because they have the experience,” Onyango further remarked.

Onyango sustained the injury while featuring for his South Africa based club, Mamelodi Sundowns in the CAF champions league final second leg tie against Egyptian side Zamalek during which he was carried off the pitch in the 27th minute.

Robert Odongkara who started in goal as Uganda lost to Zambia by 1-0 on Tuesday in an international friendly at Namboole and Salim Jamal Magoola will be available to fill the void.
