In a bid to elevate Buganda culture to global prominence, the Ganda Boys have continued their fervent efforts following their remarkable gift of a recorded orchestra version of the Buganda Anthem to the King of Buganda in 2022.

On December 25, 2022, the duo unveiled their latest initiative, a Christmas package for His Majesty Ronald Mutebi II and the entire Kingdom, featuring a meticulously crafted recorded orchestra rendition of the anthem. This masterpiece showcased a choir comprising singers from six continents, collaborating with the Ugandan creatives to deliver an awe-inspiring rendition.

The Bogotà Philharmonic Orchestra, under the orchestral arrangement by Ganda Boys founder member Craig Pruess, contributed to the recording. The final touch was added by Grammy award-winning Latino producer and engineer, Daniel Cortés, who expertly mixed the track.

Formerly known as Da Twins, Denis Mugagga and Dan Ssewagudde, based in the United Kingdom, have been actively engaged in selecting individuals and groups in Uganda passionate about music to join them in their latest project.

The iconic anthem, affectionately known as “Ekitiibwa Kya Buganda,” is slated for another recording session this year in the UK. This time, a group of 60 Ugandans, meticulously chosen by the Ganda Boys through a process initiated in June 2023, will participate. The recording is scheduled to take place at the Royal Albert Hall National Theatre in South Kensington, London, England.

Among the selected groups are the renowned Jehovah Acapellah group and the esteemed Makorale Choir from Makerere University, both of whom have earned coveted slots in this memorable endeavor.

Support for this initiative has poured in from various quarters, including well-wishers and fans of the Ganda Boys, some members of the Buganda Royal Family, and corporate entities.

With each endeavor, they continue to uplift the essence of Buganda, fostering cultural pride and unity among Ugandans and beyond.
