According to MTV UK yesterday, the Fifty Shades of Grey trailer is already the most watched trailer of the whole year, even though it was just released last week.
The website reports that more than 36.4 million views have been reported on the clip.
After the trailer came out last week, author EL James took her to her Twitter account to thank everyone. “You guys rock. Always. Thank you for the [love]. Just know… it takes a village or in this case an awesome production team.”
The clip originally premiere on the Today show last Thursday. When asked if star Dakota Johnson was nervous about taking on the role of Anastasia Steele, which has been read by millions of fans of James’ book, Johnson said shyly, “Yea we’ll have to see what they think I guess.”
Jamie Dornan won the coveted part of Christian Grey in the film adaptation. “It’s going to be sexual and everything, but it’s not going to be something that’s going to be hard to watch,” Dornan said about the film. “What I’ve seen hasn’t been particularly watered down, so, um, yeah, I thought it was interesting,” James also said about the sex scenes in the film. “So that’s all I’ll say about that.”
Fifty Shades of Grey is out Valentine’s Day 2015 in theatres.
