But what if you’re unsure if you’re feelings are reciprocated? You don’t exactly want to ask someone, “Hey, are you falling in love with me or not?” So here are 5 ways to tell he’s falling in love with you.
1. He doesn’t care what you do, as long as you’re together. You could have super fun plans like a day at Disneyland, or drinks at the hottest new bar in your city, or you could spend the day running errands at the drugstore and post office, and he doesn’t care — he’s just happy to come along. If a guy is up for doing anything with you and doesn’t even complain, he’s totally into you. It’s a sign that he loves your company and that’s all that matters to him.
2. He introduces you to his friends. Sometimes, introducing a new partner to friends can be even more serious than introducing them to one’s parents. Some people’s friends are their family. Any time a guy wants you to hang around his friends, he’s saying, “I like you a whole lot.”
3. He’s comfortable around you. Gone are those first date jitters, replaced with pure, easy comfort. He’s not afraid to admit things like he thinks the song “Bye Bye Bye” by *NSYNC is “really catchy” or that on, occasion, he keeps up with the Kardashians. Whatever his guiltiest pleasures may be, he’s got no worries or fears about admitting them to you. And he’s comfortable enough to let you know what he’s really feeling. Sometimes people see comfort as the death of romance, but I think it’s even more romantic when two people are comfortable enough with each other to be themselves.
4. He’s affectionate in public. He makes like The Beatles (“I wanna hold your haaaa-aaaaand.”) He kisses you on the top of your head when you’re in a crowded bar. He puts his arm around you at dinner. He doesn’t care who sees or who knows it. I’ve found that even the least physically affectionate men show SOME display of public affection when they’re head-over-heels — even if it’s something simple, like touching you when he doesn’t have to (by which I mean, poking you playfully or rubbing your shoulder, as opposed to pulling you out of the street from an oncoming truck — that kind of unnecessary touching.)
5. He makes future plans. He may casually mention a party his friend is throwing — 3 months from now, and oh, do you want to come? Guys tend not to plan ahead too much, at least not to the extent women do (and I don’t know why this is) so if he’s making future plans, it’s a definite sign he’s swooning. And if he’s talking about a trip or even a weekend getaway? There’s a sure sign he’s really falling. And nothing can bring people together (or tear them apart) like traveling together — especially when it’s a road trip. Just something to keep in mind. But please, don’t fret too much about these signs. Love is the kind of thing that when you know, you just know. Hint: if he says “I love you”, there you go.
