No doubt cheating is one of the worst things that could happen to a relationship, but that’s not the only red flag you need to be watching out for. Some of the worst relationship breakers start out small and end up destroying both of you. Watch out for these signs early on to avoid heartbreak.
1. Tiny little lies:
It might not seem like much. He stepped out for a smoke but said he got an important call instead, or he told you that he is going to be late at work but he was actually at a friend’s watching the match instead. We all indulge in these harmless little lies, but you need to draw the line between innocent white lies and potentially dangerous untruths.
2. Quiet resentment:
We’ve heard it a million times – communication is the key to a good relationship. And that’s completely true because the more you hold things inside and don’t talk it out, the more it’s going to snowball into a larger issue. If your partner is holding a grudge, its best to sit him or her down and talk it out.
3. Staying in a relationship because of convenience:
You’ve invested in a relationship and it’s only natural for you to want to work things out. However if you see that he isn’t as invested or is not putting in the same effort, you don’t really need him in your life. Get out while you still have a chance.
4. Too much jealousy:
Another major red flag. You might like it at first, thinking that he is caring and protective, but excessive jealousy can fast turn into a horrible relationship deal breaker. You need your space and if your partner isn’t able to trust you, maybe you are in the wrong relationship.
5. Being fake:
We all present a better, more polished version of our own selves during the first few dates, but eventually if the mask doesn’t fall off, chances are he is hiding something or he doesn’t trust you enough to be himself. Do you really need that in your life?
