The third edition of the prestigious AfricaMagic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCAs) kicks into another gear as nominees are announced on Wednesday, 10 December 2014. DStv and GOtv audiences should tune in to catch the announcement which airs on all AfricaMagic channels at 20:30 CAT. Public voting will open immediately after the announcement and close on the 28 February 2015.
The Nominee Announcement, which will be hosted by popular television personalities, Nick Mutuma of Mashariki Mix and Sika Osei of 53 Extra, is once again brought to viewers by AfricaMagic in association with MultiChoice Africa and the headline sponsor, Amstel Malta.
Regional Director, M-Net (West) Wangi Mba-Uzoukwu, said: “We are pleased to invite our viewers to tune in as we announce the nominees for the 2015 AMVCAs. We have received over 2 000 entries and this undoubtedly reflects the importance of the awards in the African film and television industry. We are all excited to know those who made the cut!”
Since the maiden edition in 2013, the AMVCAs have celebrated the contributions of African filmmakers, actors and technicians to the success of the continent’s film and television industry. With the third edition, which is scheduled to hold on the 7 March, 2015, viewers can expect to see even more awards in new categories ranging from acting, directing to scriptwriting and cinematography. Other categories will include editing, make-up, sound and lighting, amongst others.
