City con men are having a field day after Desire Luzinda’s nude photos leaked.
A team of conmen in the city have opened up over 20 Facebook accounts in Desire Luzinda’s names and several Mobile Money accounts in her names. They have gone ahead to dupe fans into believing that they are chatting with Desire online, and then ask for money to help her through this challenging time in her life.
One of the conned people called John had this to say; “I was conned of 600,000shs. I believed that this was Desire I was chatting with. I was asked to send the money using Mobile money which I did. Even the number was registered in her names. I later realized I had been duped when I called and they refused to pick then I saw a message from Desire warning us against conmen. I feel so bad.”
Desire also went ahead to warn fans against being conned by city conmen. She asked them to be vigilant. “Being a victim of fraud, I am saddened to learn about fake accounts that have been opened in my name. The very accounts are being used to ask people for money. I have 2 accounts; the official Luzinda Desire page and a fan page. My team and I have managed the situation and are not in any way asking anyone for money so please be vigilant and don’t fall victim,” she said.
In the recent past, city con men have used the same means to con the unsuspecting public of millions. A lot of money was made by conmen when they started collecting condolence fees from Juliana Kanyomozi’s fans in July this year. The money never saw the day of light let alone serve its intended purpose. A priest in Kabale and one in Kabarole were conned in the same manner.
